Gain a deep ocean, adding it to your native biomes and gained 4 points.
Your hunters produced 4 meals, your breeder produced 3 population. Gain 3 points from the 4 meals and 3 points from the new population.
You may expand hunt breed or move.
The new nearby biomes list includes; deep ocean x2, open ocean x4, seabed x1
>Species family - Jews
>Population:15 - how many of you there are
>Number of dedicated hunters: 3 - members who do nothing but hunt
>Number of dedicated reproducers: 1 - members who do nothing but breed and reproduce
>Native biome: Shallows, Deep Ocean
>Evolutions: sense of smell, primordial spine, and paddle-tail
>Number of points: 25 of 1,000,000,000,000,000 possible.
Time for some good ol' fashioned breeding.

Re: Ever Upward and Beyond; the evolution of life
Every once in a while the evolution shop opens up. When evolutions are less expensive, it opens more often, as they get more expensive, it opens less.
Currently up for purchase evolutions are as follows.
Size change: Bigger - 10 points
Size change: Smaller - 5 points
Scaled skin: fish type - 12 points
Armored body: crustacean type - 18 points
Armored body: Bone set - 22 points
Larger/smaller feature - 4 points
Sensory ability, 1 specific sense (i.e. sight touch hearing etc) - 27 points
Primordial brain - 30 points
Edit: buying something from the store doesn't cost a turn. I will be proceeding with the game, doing person-specific responses, afterward. The store closes again after this turn.

That it guys? I'm going to close the shop if it is.
Note that the shop isn't already closed. But will be if no one responds wanting to buy stuff.

Your body changes when you bought the bone set. Instead of a smooth, scale-less skin, you now have a rigid skin with boney plate resembling that of a sturgeon or a crustacean. Add: "Bone Set 1" to your Evolutions.
As for the hunt, your hunt efforts produce 3 meals, which net you 6 points. Your breeders produce 2 population. Gain 2 points from the population.
A current storm sweeps some of your population away, you gained an open ocean instead of a deep ocean. They didn't die, they just were moved. You don't need to change any of your numbers or stats except to put in "open ocean" in your native biomes list.

You gained "Sense of touch". Tiny bumps form on your limbs, which are able to detect hard/soft and hot/cold currently. You need a more advanced brain for much more detection than that.
You took control of the adjacent deep ocean. Putting in new dedicated breeders/hunters doesn't require a roll, its a free action. Your hunters produced 4 meals, netting you 7 points, your breeders produced 3 population netting you 3 points.

Re: Ever Upward and Beyond; the evolution of life
Species: Octopus Encerrina
Population: 17
Number of dedicated hunters: 7
Number of dedicated reproducers: 5
Native biome: Sponge Forest, Deep Ocean
Evolutions: (Primordial Brain, Limbs, Swimming Suction)
Points: 14
Meals: 11
We expand again, taking another deep ocean, and focus on population growth to fill our new territories. Reallocate 3 more members to dedicated breeders and 2 more members to dedicated hunters, making 7 hunters and 5 breeders out of 17 individuals.
Edited because I forgot to add Deep Ocean to native biome, original roles were 61 and 41.
Sorry.

Also did the new biome unlock new areas?

Add Shallows to your native biomes.
Your hunters produce 2 meals, you gained 4 points from that. Your breeders produced 3 population, gain 3 points from that.
Your bone set 1 is different from the others in that your bones are actually inside your body and are somewhat like actual bones, rather than being an outside piece. They're still not very big or strong, but they're inside your body.
The nearby biomes you may expand out to include; Shoal, Deep Sea, Open Sea, and Polar Sea.
A hurricane passed near you, but didn't affect you.

Your breed produces 6 population. There is not enough food. Your hunters produce 3 meals. Gain 5 points from the meals and 6 points from the population.
Nearby biomes include; Deep sea, open sea, shallows, sandbar.
An earthquake happened in the sea floor below you, but didn't affect you.

Your hunters fail to find any food. Or even come back. Dedicated hunters drops to 0. You may choose new hunters as a free action that doesn't consume an action or require a roll.
Your breeders produced 4 population.
A tidal wave passed above you, but didn't affect you.
Random evolution: Hermaphroditism - you no longer need dedicated breeders, and offspring are produced automatically each turn in greater numbers.
