GLITTERSHINE'S ICE AGE FANTASY BUILDER Empty GLITTERSHINE'S ICE AGE FANTASY BUILDER

Post by Glittershine Thu Oct 30, 2014 6:50 pm

Welcome friends to my first builder on this forum. As a warning times between updates will vary. It may be three a night it may be two a week. However I will try to keep you informed on when I will and will not be updating. So any time that it seems like it may take a while take up the opportunity to fluff out your actions.

The Lore Up To This Point:http://pastebin.com/WjFgdAsk

This is likely to change over the course of the game and will be updated. Right now it just contains some standard races to pick from but if you have ideas for new ones message me in this chat if I'm there https://client01.chat.mibbit.com/?channel=%23Nation&server=irc.mibbit.net
But if I'm not there you can friend me on steam. My name is Cjelex.

For now if you have questions about what you want to play and it's not on the chart, such as walrus people or giants or something. Ask me to approve it and then write some lore about it in your character fluff so I can work with it. Reminder that it is low magic in the sense that very few people can preform "grand acts" and those who can are normally exhausted from them. At most one might be able to control a storm for an hour or burn down an entire keep but that would exhaust them much so. So keep that in mind when making your character.

Oh fuck also. For starting give a pretty decent amount of fluff describing your character. This will decide bonuses.

Just right up fluff it's going to be very free form. Give name, race, background, etc. I will give a bonus and assume your character has any gear they need in the possession.

Name: Tuskarr
Race: Walrus man
Background: For many moons, the Walrus men of the frigid north had lived their peaceful, nomadic life away from the prying eyes of civilization, surviving off of the bounty of the sea and what little fertile soil they could toil in the north, a hardy, community focused race of big drinkers and tough fighters undisturbed by outsiders for years.

But when the seas froze and the world darkened, it was nearly enough to put these people on the brink. Migrating from fishing spot to fishing spot, one Walrus Man decided that living on the brink would not be the fate of his people. Tuskarr often thought of to be the strongest Walrus Man who ever lived; he who split the frozen lake of Tuskagee open with one punch, he who tussled with the giant polar bear Frostivus and won, and now one of the few remaining Walrus Men left in his village, he alone was tasked with finding a new permanent home for their people so that they can settle down and bend together for their survival, he accepted for the honor and survival of his people.

And also, so he could fight something other then polar bears and moot brawls. How can you be the strongest if you set your bar so low after all?

Name: Slaver the Human
Race: Human
Background: Born in ice and raised in the gutter, the Human was child to a desperate merchant who spent everything he had left on bribes to save his wife and child when Drow and Dwarves alike decided to close their gates to the rest of the world. The boy grew up in the trash of other races, better races as they would have him believe. They never even took to calling him by his name, they didn't need to, "The Human" was both a sufficient description and a name for him, as alongside his mother he was the only one in a city of thousands. As time passed he became used to it, an insult became a name, an identity, and the boy became a man. The Human only had few friends, close bonds shared with others of low social status such as himself, the scum that roamed the lower levels of the Den, but even they found little more than a bit of amusement in his ideas of a cultured human race. But he would not let go of the thought, the belief, his obsession, his dream? He was certain humans could be a race just as skillful as the dwarves and just as refined as the orks. All they required was an opportunity. A chance to prove themselves. But who would give them one if not a human? They wouldn't come freely, he knew that and the other races would not accept them in their cities, he knew that as well. However the one thing everyone accepted were servants, slaves, people cared little for who digged up their coal, who weaved their carpet or carried their water. As he first ventured out with his band of warriors he saw in himself the creator of a new future for humans, but for everyone else, he was just a slaver. And that's how that come to call him, Slaver the Human.

The many tribes of Walrus men have different customs and cultures but they all have the same goal, to find a place to call home. Those who learn of your purpose are quick to aid you in anyway they can, whether it's supplies, shelter, or just to be someone to talk to. You are also not alone in your mission. [Bonus]Savior or Destroyer:Those who hear your plan think various thoughts, some question your ethics, others see it as the only path forward, and more seem to see you as a villain. But if you let insults hold you down then you would have never survived. Your close band of warriors consists of 20 of human descent. Most are half something's or others, Orc, drow, dwarf, even a few halflings (even in the apocalypse humans still can't help themselves). But you do still have 5 "pure blood" humans who wish to help their people by inter grating the wild men back into society.

Those looking for slaves will deal with you quite admirably as they want your business, whether they believe in your cause or not. However those who think your cause amoral may come to blows with you.

Looks like we are getting 3 actions per turn with a d100 per action each. 100's won't be a supreme win button while 1's will not instantly end the game either.

1-3. The group wasn't particularly large, that was just about everything he could tell from the imprints in the fresh snow. He should have prepared better but in the dark passages of the Den there wasn't much tracking to be trained. With a faint smile on his face Slaver stood up and turned to his men, they were excited and rightfully so, this was the first time for many of them, a lot were probably wishing they were still back at the Den, training, but some things could only be learned by doing the real thing. Without another word he continued to follow the track, pulling the fur hood deeper into his face as wind picked up and the trees began to bow down to him as peasants to a king. They were moving at a quick pace, it was only a question of time until he and his men would catch up. There were slaves to be captured.

Day 1. It is cold. It is always cold, yes, but there is a bitter and biting cold that the north hasn't seen for a long while. Further north will only be worst, and if I know my climes, which I do, the further south we go, the less harsh it should be for our people.

On our maps we have a location known as the drake's tail, the furthest known location on what few maps we have to the south, the sea is only partially frozen and we know some good people who reside around that point (and hope that they still are), we shall barter with them what supplies we can, and head further south from that point, if they are still there. This might not be the most detailed plan, but it is a plan and the alternative is to stay here and die a slow death. I, and by extension, my people, would like to avoid this is possible

1-2. Go South, south, and further south still
3. Meet up at the Drake's Tail with the tribe that resides there, acquire additional supplies if needed, perhaps even a sled or boat, depending on what we are dealing with.

Name: Gala the Misbegotten
Race: Drider
Background: Before the end of the warm times the Drow were cruel and vindictive. One of their favorite curses upon those who displeased them were the curse of the spider. A fusion of spider and drow woman, which doomed the so cursed with a mark of slavery and beastism. However when the hard winter came, and never ended the drow no longer could afford to keep such slaves, as most needed flesh and blood to survive and much of the food they ate died off.

The driders were cast off into the cold, and the dark of the deepest caves were there were no light and there was no food.

They wandered, and starved, and died. Until the smartest of them, a twisted drider, Gala the Misbegotted chanced upon an exit to the surface.. and a small town of hardy humans. They boiled out of the caves and feasted well that day. Strengthened they returned to the caves and began to plot. Human flesh and human blood could be replaced by drow and dwarf after all.

The tracks lead deep into the storm. Most of your men complain about going so far away from the city with this harsh of weather going on. But they push through and you hear a sound in the distance. Chanting and war cries. Seems like you found a human tribe preparing for something. You can't see how many there are but you could try to get a drop on them.

1. The humans had goats, shaggy things that survived even the cold of winter. We shall breed them so we do not starve while we find another village.

2. Send out scouting parties, both in the dark caves and in the open world. Seek out small villages to plan raids upon.

3. Our numbers are few, and our kind finally has enough energy to turn to other matters. Namely sex and breeding.

1:You begin gathering the the goats together but the giant spiders watching them seems to freak the out a bit. Maybe you should leave them alone to do the nasty bidness.
2:Your scouts report of four targets. A small human tribe, low on resources but low on defense as well, a dwarf/drow stronghold with high chance of reward but higher chance of casualties. As well as an elven collation, taking them down would be challenging and the loot could vary from odd trinkets and garbage to something more special. Lastly a group of gnoll traders are passing through in a caravan, goodies but risk of guards.
3:You realize none of the riders have had sex in centuries. Whenever the population dwindled the drow would just curse more people to the form. You don't even know if you can breed.

1.  Goat farming.

2. 3. Figure out the breeding thing. If nothing else sex is a good way to celebrate not dying.

1-3. A short handsign was all it took to shut up his men. Their faces turned serious and one after the other they readied their weapons. They would try to take as many alive as possible, after all this was a slave trade. Hell, if things went good, perhaps they would even be able to make them surrender. He peaked through the snow covered branches trying to get a glimpse at what they had gotten themselves into, surely it wouldn't be that easy, humans were savages and everyone knew that. In a fluid movement he ducked under the branch as swiftly carried on through the snowy landscape. They were in no rush, especially not if the men were preparing for a hunt or even war with another tribe. It would give them the opportunity to take off with the women and children. A branch cracked not far ahead, it was barely noticable through the roaring wind, but somehow the distinct sound carried to his ears. Instincitvely the Slaver ducked and sneaked into cover. If conditions were favorable they would strike, if not? They would just have to be patient.

GLITTERSHINE'S ICE AGE FANTASY BUILDER Empty Re: GLITTERSHINE'S ICE AGE FANTASY BUILDER

Post by TheNabster Mon Nov 03, 2014 2:48 pm

[Bonus] Last Hope For a Dying People: Tuskarr is on a noble quest. His people starve as their old home is buried under a mile of snow. The many tribes of Walrus men have different customs and cultures but they all have the same goal, to find a place to call home. Those who learn of your purpose are quick to aid you in anyway they can, whether it's supplies, shelter, or just to be someone to talk to. You are also not alone in your mission. The other tribes have also sent out other noble warriors in search of a home. Maybe they will aid you on your quest, or maybe they will hinder you to take the glory for themselves, only time can tell.

Day 2. Something is wrong, sounds of battle drift in from the direction of our destination. The numbers of torches and weapons being crossed is far too much for just a repulsion of encroaching wildlife, but the last Great Moot strictly forbade the tribes from declaring war on each other during these trying time. Either this is an opportunistic tribe of vultures, who reckoned that the word of the Elders no longer applies, or this is some group of raiders that thinks us as easy pickings.

No matter who this threat is though, I shall give them a warm welcome.

1-3. Buckle down, roll up into that village and start kicking whatever ass needs to be kicked.

Name: Dred Nawte
Race: Warforged
Background: Born before the cancer of the world spread, The mighty Warforged was the pinnacle of human warfare and ingenuity. Similar to a homunculus, the Warforged has an "artificial" soul placed within its vessel and given life via the innate magic throughout the world. The being known as Dred Nawte has lived through countless battles and scoured whole cities in an effort to be of use to its creators. After the science of Warforged creation was lost and the world nearly bereft of mana, Dred Nawte has wondered aimlessly, with no direction and hardly any combat capability anymore. Standing at 9 feet(3 meters) full extension, it has a hard time getting help with its intimidating figure and really, all it seeks is interaction with another intelligent being and a master.

GLITTERSHINE'S ICE AGE FANTASY BUILDER Empty Re: GLITTERSHINE'S ICE AGE FANTASY BUILDER

Post by Dafty Mon Nov 03, 2014 11:04 pm

Name: Xanacanxydus
Race: Far Realms Human
Background
Born long before the current era of time, Xanacanxydus hails from one of the deceased planes, totally dead realities contained in the far realms. Far realms humans look superficially like elves, pointed ears, long tall body, long hair, but they aren't nature spirits. Tired of hiding from enemies he wasn't even sure were real, Xanacanxydus used the last planar travel charge an enchanted item had to get himself here, breaking the item and leaving no further possibility of recharging it or using it. He has known at one time or another a great deal more spells than he could ever remember or use, but the main spells he uses these days are from the necromancy and conjuration groups. Convinced he's being hounded and followed by long dead enemies (and maybe a few that are still alive), Xanacanxydus decided that he would revive as much of the world as he could, in whatever way he could, making a split-second decision that he needed an army for insane, half-remembered reasons.

Xanacanxydus is very tall, with black and red eyes, white hair, caucasian skin, and black/purple attire usually.

Good news. You figured out that in order to breed you have to have two different genders and make sure that the species are compatible. The bad news? Well you realized this after eating all but one of the male goats. Oops...

You looked over towards the sound of the snapping twig. To your surprise it wasn't a dire moose, one of the most fearsome creatures of this region. But it wasn't the monstrous demon, it was something far more disconcerting. Elves. A shit ton of elves. The old saying "When among elves, watch yourselves" that was until the chanting barbarians rushed the zombified corpses with flaming torches and axes in hand. At this moment a couple of ideas run through your head. Do you ambush the humans and take the soldiers? Sneak around and steal the civilians? Join them in their fight? Or do you sit and watch the conflict?

You tighten your belt buckle, adjusting it slightly then sprint into town. You find what the other walrus men are fighting. It's a fuck huge giant ice drake. About the size of two dire moose you crack your knuckles and decide this is your chance. You jump onto the beast, wrapping your arms around it's giant neck. It bucks harder then any polar bear but you don't let up. Just as it's about to throw you off you grab its tooth and rip it out. The beast roars and pain throws you to the ground and flys off defeated.

Dun Dun Dun Dun You got the "Drake Tooth"

People are gathering around staring in awe

Well your body comes with a couple of pros and cons.

Pros:You don't need to eat, you don't age, you are essentially immortal, and you are physically HUEG!
Cons:People tend to not take well to giant living machines, anti magics seem to effect you, and rusting and other such things seems to mess you up.

1. Have the human women share with us a feast of their fallen menfolk. They are now of us, and they shall prove it by eating their old lives. Have them help prepare the meal every step of the way, and be patient and caring with their frailties and revulsion. Break them utterly.

2. Begin building improved houses using materials from the raided villages.

3. Hey it worked! Continue to have sex with one another. A great big orgy to celebrate our first children. Include the human women. One of the more magical sensitive driders tries to tap into the magic of lots of sex.

Oddly enough even with your phase shift you are more attached magically to your old plane then the current one. It's a 60/40 split with 60% coming from the old plane and 40% from the ice plane. Essentially it allows you to tap into the store of energy since this place is more or less tapped for magic. Ergo if you train hard enough you can become the most powerful wizard on this plane. That isn't saying much but it's still a great feat. Also be careful of events that would either weaken the tie between this plane and your old one it might drain your power a bit.

There is only one way one can react to a situation like this, roar in triumph! And then hit the great tent to parley with leaders and get drunk. It is the Walrus Man way.

1. Celebrate the ass-whopping you gave the drake with the villagers, crack open a keg of my own personal finest to raise the spirits. Figuratively and literally.
2. Pow-wow with the chieftain for any supplies they could spare. And if possible an ice barge, tomorrow I intend to cross the waves to the nearest visible land mass from Drake's Tail
3. Before I leave, I will take this Drake's Tooth to a smith, it will make a fine dagger I am sure, a good sidearm for the road ahead.

1-3. The situation was quite in their favor. They had the advantage of arms on their side even if they did not have the advantage in numbers, surely the humans would not attack their own right away once they spotted them. The elves were a sizeable force to be reckogned with, but they would inevitably loose the battle (cue bad rolls here), the question was what would happen afterwards. The Slaver decided that it would probably wisest to offer the remaining humans to join his tribe, whether they would refuse or accept was up to them and how he would deal with them was still up to question as well, but he hoped for an opportunity to talk before a second battle could commence.

But first things first. Dealing with the elves. They were apparently not the smartest and even if they could gain no new slaves they would be able to sell the equipment for a nice fee. Slaver decided to lead his forces around to the elven rear in cover of the snowstorm. They would begin to silently decimate the elven forces from behind, should the zombies prove stupid enough they would not even notice their numbers dwindling from behind. Should they notice they would be encircled no less.

ACTIONS
1. Take stock of where exactly I landed
2. Seek shelter and/or food
3. Perform a few simple magical tasks to see if my magic works correctly still.

1-3; Smash evil creatures near roads frequented by humans and such
Spoiler:

Most of the creatures you face are simple dire wolves which you swat like rats. They run off. A small tribe of humans nearby sees what you are doing and shows its appreciation by putting a caribou slab of meat in front of you. You can't eat it but it's the thought that counts. Maybe they'll warm up to you more as time moves on.

2. Raid the weak human villages for succulent meat. Though only kill the men folk, take the women alive. I have an idea.

3. Continue using the excuse of trying to lay fertilized eggs by having sex with one another. What? You expect us to try and use magic instead? Pffft. Maybe afterwords. The goats aren't the only ones who are feeling randy.

Stat Sheet:

1:The old stud appears to still got some fuss in him. All the female goats are now pregnent. Hopefully you'll get some males. 2 turns till birth.

2:The tribe didn't see it coming. You killed 13 men and took 7 women captive before being driven off. You moved the male bodies to the food hold and you moved the women to an unused cave. Human slave what do?

3:Good news. Someone is pregenent. And she already layed her eggs. Three turns till birth.

TheNabster wrote:Name: Tuskarr

Items: Drake Tooth

1-2:Holy shit that was a blast. You wake up the next morning with a wagon full of food, beer and other supplies. Also you are betrothed to the chiefs daughter. Sick. Wait what?
3:If by dagger you mean shorts word then yeah. Gain Drake Tooth Sword, give it a name.

[Savior or Destroyer] Those who hear your plan think various thoughts, some question your ethics, others see it as the only path forward, and more seem to see you as a villain.

Party:
+ 20 Mixed Human Warriors
+ 5 Human Warriors

You quickly dispatch of most of the elves. Not the brightest lot they tend to attack straight forward instead of looking back for food. Food? Wait do they eat? They kinda just attack? Ah who cares. Before long you forces meet up with the humans sandwiching them in. After a long battle you walk away with no casualties as the other humans celebrate their victory. You can kinda figure out who is most likely the chief.
